Where: 161 Palm Avenue, Auburn, CA. (Access to the building and parking are at the rear of  the building.)


When the waves of grief are more than we can endure, when confusion and pain are our constant companions after loss, or when it is difficult to interact with others, the 5 Principles of Healthy Grief workshop is the place to be. You will find support, understanding, encouragement and tools to process the pain. But more important than these, you will be introduced to the One who knows and understands your grief more than anyone else. Come discover resources that will meet each of your grieving experiences.

This 2 hour, interactive workshop will be taught by Karen Nicola, a friend to the hurting heart. Karen has known the inexpressible experience of watching her precious three year old son slip away in death to leukemia. In her desire to make sense of the pain, she discovered Biblical resources that comforted and brought healing. Her book, Comfort for the Day, was written so others could access these same resources.

Karen leads highly interactive workshops where her audiences learn about healthy grief and/or discover skills to authentically help grieving friends. Her marriage of 41 years is enhanced with two wonderful adult children and two granddaughters. Karen enjoys morning speed-walking, vegetarian cooking, reading, riding on the back of her husband’s motor cycle, and watching thought provoking movies. The warmth and connection Karen fosters as a grief coach encourages her clients through their difficult work of bereavement. By grace from God, Karen is committed to supporting others through their seasons of grief and training those who comfort them.
