Join us for our 3rd Annual “Step out of Stigma” Mental Health Awareness Walk!

Life can feel like a never-ending battle for those who struggle with a mental illness. Minutes feel like hours, hours feel like days, and days feel like an eternity of hopelessness. On top of this, the stigma regarding mental illness can deter people from seeking help for fear of judgment. An untreated mental health condition can lead to devastating results for the sufferer, their family, and the community at large.

When you attend a Step Out of Stigma event, you are uniting with a community of warriors. Your presence tells the world that you will not buy into the stigma surrounding mental illness. Whether you have lost someone to a mental health condition, know someone who is currently struggling, or if you are struggling yourself, rest assured that you have a community here that will stand with you. Together, we can create a better future for ourselves and our loved ones.

What is the Step Out of Stigma Walk/Run all about?

Step Out of Stigma is a fundraising event that emphasizes mental health education. Whether you plan to walk, run, engage in interactive games, or fundraise, this event will foster connections and strengthen the bond between you and other mental health advocates. To get in on the action, you can register for the walk and build a team to fundraise for mental health education. The first step towards a healthier future can begin with you!

Ways to Participate

Lead a team:

Team leaders play a key role in making this community event a success. You’ll recruit your team, organize fundraising goals and help keep your team excited and motivated. There will be some great prizes for teams and fundraisers, so be creative!

Walk and Fundraise:

Reach out to your community by fundraising for wholistic mental health education. You can join an existing team or work on your own to raise funds. Whichever way you choose, you’ll make a difference.

Walk or Donate:

Everyone can show their support by attending the walk and or donating to the cause. Any amount is appreciated and makes a difference when combined with other donations. Your donations make it possible for us to bring hope and healing to more hurting people.

Q: What will the funds go towards?

A: Beautiful Minds Wellness is raising funds to support our wholistic mental health education programs which include our free monthly webinars, in-person workshops and production of The Brain People Podcast. We also raise funds to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford wholistic mental health services.

Q: Are donations tax-deductible?

A: Yes, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all donations to Beautiful Minds Wellness are tax-deductible.

Q: What are some effective fundraising ideas?

A: We know fundraising can feel pretty intimidating, so here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Match fund: You can pledge to donate $5 for every $10 given up to a certain amount.
  • Garage Sale: Tell your friends and neighbors that a percentage of the proceeds will go towards this fundraiser.
  • Ask: Sometimes the simplest methods are the best. Tell those you know about the mission of Beautiful Minds Wellness and ask if they would like to contribute. Look how easy it could be to raise $100:
    • Donate $25 to kickstart your own fundraising campaign
    • Ask a family member to donate $25
    • Ask a friend to donate $25
    • Ask a coworker or church member to donate $25

Remember, every dollar counts, so even a small donation can be celebrated!

Bake sales, odd jobs, and birthday fundraisers are just a few more fun and effective methods you and your team can use to meet your fundraising goal.

Q: Is this a family-friendly event?

A: Yes, we encourage you to bring your whole family. It’s never too early to start teaching and implementing good mental health principles and practices. Children 12 and under are free. If bringing children, register with the family ticket.

Q: Was there a registration fee last year?

A: No. This is the first year we have charged a registration fee. It’s also the first year that we have given t-shirts to all participants!
